Summary

Les Elfes ne viennent que pour deux raisons : la guerre et les épouses。 Dans les deux cas， leur apparition est synonyme de mort。

Afin d'honorer ce traité， les habitants humains du village de Capton sont forcés de fournir tous les cent ans une jeune fille， afin qu'elle devienne l'épouse du roi elfe et parte vivre avec lui。

Être choisie revient à quitter son peuple et sa famille pour toujours， une condamnation à laquelle Luella， âgée de dix-neuf ans， est heureuse d'avoir échappé。 Elle a pu ainsi suivre des études d'herboristerie， afin de devenir la guérisseuse du village。

Jusqu'au jour où le roi des Elfes vient pour elle。。。

La voici désormais forcée d'épouser un roi froid， à la beauté surnaturelle， et de vivre au coeur d'un pays plein de magie sauvage， mais qui se meurt。 Car Luella va vite découvrir que pèse sur ses épaules un lourd fardeau : elle seule peut sauver à la fois ce monde et celui dont elle vient， et où elle a laissé les siens。。。

Amo los libros de romance y fantasía y este libro me gustó， es adictivo， atrapa desde los primeros capítulos， me gustaron los personajes。 Pero siento que le faltó más romance y la batalla del final no me convenció mucho。 Por lo demás me encantó！

"May tomorrow hold every possibility。 And may we be bold and hungry enough to take them for our own。"A Hades/Persephone retelling with elves as the Underworld。 There's even a big black dog。While I think the magic of this world could have definitely been more fleshed out （and if the books in this series are connected I can hope it's something Kova addresses） it was still a good read。 I loved Eldas coming to terms with him loving Luella。 I loved the concept of true names， but I think it would have "May tomorrow hold every possibility。 And may we be bold and hungry enough to take them for our own。"A Hades/Persephone retelling with elves as the Underworld。 There's even a big black dog。While I think the magic of this world could have definitely been more fleshed out （and if the books in this series are connected I can hope it's something Kova addresses） it was still a good read。 I loved Eldas coming to terms with him loving Luella。 I loved the concept of true names， but I think it would have been a great way to prove Luella's love for him to OFFER UP her true name to him in a nice balance from Eldas taking it the first time。But still， an enjoyable read。 。。。more

It wasn’t badly written。 Very engaging read throughout I had issues with the characters。 There’s also a heavy reliance on tropes。 It’s enemies to lovers which is a lot of fun。 I would have preferred if the Elf King has more to do in some of the subplots it seems like his character diminishes。 Personally I would have liked it if he kept his colder traits and they were just expressed differently。 Falling in love in my opinion should be an adding to and not a taking away。 There’s a sense of fixing It wasn’t badly written。 Very engaging read throughout I had issues with the characters。 There’s also a heavy reliance on tropes。 It’s enemies to lovers which is a lot of fun。 I would have preferred if the Elf King has more to do in some of the subplots it seems like his character diminishes。 Personally I would have liked it if he kept his colder traits and they were just expressed differently。 Falling in love in my opinion should be an adding to and not a taking away。 There’s a sense of fixing and it kind of ruins him as a character if that makes sense。 Even though the author goes through hoops to say the FL didn’t fix him。 I didn’t care for the female lead that much found her to be narcissistic and entitled to get things her way。 I also would have liked if Eldas had more bite to him in the beginning rather than making threats he doesn’t follow through with。 Made him seem way less masculine。 But for what it was it was a fun read。 Wouldn’t read another book from her though。 。。。more

DNF je sais si c’est la trad ou le livre en lui même mais ça ne le fait pas du tout。 J’ai l’impression de lire une traduction littérale de chaque page et en plus de ça le fond ne me plait pas plus que la forme。 Je trouve les personnages mal ficelés et ne ressent aucune alchimie entre les deux protagonistes。 Je préfère donc m’arrêter là pour ne pas juste cracher sur ma lecture tout du long。
